Tarotcast

The Tarotcast is posted at the beginning of each month. I pick the cards at random and offer interpretations in conjunction with the twelve star-signs of astrology. The deck that I have chosen to use is Mary Griffin's beautiful HEZICOS Tarot. Mary has very generously given me permission to use her deck on my website and you can find out everything you want to know about it at www.hezicostarot.com

About September 2017

The Tarotcast this month shows that plenty of people are having a rather difficult time at present. Of course we all have those times in our lives, whether we want to or not and it can seem hard to 'keep the faith' when things are bad and you're feeling down. Yet that is the very time when you most need to trust. The wheel will turn again so be patient, and be sure that better times will come.

Aries

Five of Coins

Are you feeling like you've tried every which way to do something, yet in spite of all your efforts you haven't had much success? This may have left you in a tight corner and you don't know what to do. Sometimes the only thing to do is to walk away. It's not an admission of failure or of weakness. It's a sign of strength to recognise that you need to do something different. So now you need to step forwards into the as-yet-unknown, have faith in the universe, and things will take a turn for the better.
Five of Coins

Taurus

King of Coins

You appear to be concerned with matters of money and the home. As a home-lover you like to have your home just so, and it can cost money to do that. However, don't be overly preoccupied about it. You are capable of organising your finances, even if you do get a little bit carried away from time to time. It may be that another is looking to you to help deal with their own money problems and you need to decide if and how you're going to help. Remember to keep in mind the best interests of the other and don't just splash out willy-nilly. It's up to you.
King of Coins

Gemini

Ten of Rods

How much longer are you going to plod on carrying your load when there is no need to do that? This is the more depressive side of the Gemini. Are you feeling overloaded in any way? This card shows that you have been treading rough terrain for some time, as well as feeling bowed down mentally. Maybe it hasn't occurred to you that you can stop now and rest. Doing that will enable you to assess your situation and to take a different approach. It's no good making a martyr of yourself, so drop that load, rest your feet, and then start anew.
Ten of Rods

Cancer

Queen of Rods

Although you're a watery sign, this fiery card picks up on your warmth. Others like to be around you because they feel nurtured and cared for. A note of caution - be sure that you nurture yourself. If you don't and you are constantly giving you will end up burnt out. Don't be afraid to look people in the eye and say you are taking some time out. Others will survive.

Leo

Here we have the playful side of yourself. You may find it a bit difficult to express that side at times. It will help if you look back to childhood and recall the things that you enjoyed doing. Remember the way you felt? How those things gave you relief from the more difficult aspects of childhood? Play is what will give you respite from the stress and strains of everyday life. Make time for play. Everyone has an inner child. Get in touch with yours and play :-)

Virgo

The Sun

This version of the Sun has pointers to the main directions of the compass - east, south, west, north. Which direction in your life is it that casts a happy glow over your face? What is it that lightens your day? You do love order and particularity, and are very organised as a rule. Your devotion to duty does detract from the more fun aspects of life, and you can get bogged down without even realising it. Take some time to sit down and think where your fun in life lies. Then connect with that and have some carefree fun time.
The Sun

Libra

Nine of Swords

'Steel hand in velvet glove' - that's how Librans are sometimes described. And this card shows what is often going on behind the scenes - worries that keep you awake at night. Plenty of people would be quite surprised if they knew what was really going on in your heart. Might it be time to become more open and share your worries, be they about yourself or others, with trusted friends? Yes, you don't want to appear vulnerable but folks will respect you for it. The outcome will be that your burden will not be so heavy nor your sleep so interrupted.
Nine of Swords

Scorpio

Five of Swords

Are you feeling you have too many worries in your life just now? Too many concerns to be able to give any one your full attention. You seem to be overwhelmed but you keep on trying with the same result every time. The obvious answer is to look at one concern at a time. When you have dealt with the first one to your satisfaction, then you can move on to the next, and so on. It might be useful to prioritise, and to delegate as well. This way of dealing with things will allow you to feel much more in control and a lot less stressed. Do it now.
Five of Swords

Sagittarius

Ace of Swords

Do you have something that you need to say? It's not your usual style to engage brain before speaking yet that seem to be what's happening now, and that may be an indication that it's really important to you to get it right. The faces on the Sword are looking in all directions, so you need to scrutinise your choice of words, otherwise it could be too cutting for the recipient to hear. Take care with how you express yourself and you will avoid conflict and loss of communication. You can do it.
Ace of Swords

Capricorn

Seven of Swords

It looks like someone is taking credit for something you have done, something that you have put your heart and soul into. This card could be called the Word Thief. It's no good just sitting back and letting it happen. You need to do something about it, if for no other reason but your self-respect. Speak up for yourself, expose the other (where appropriate) and reclaim what's yours. It's not something you are used to doing and it may take some courage, but you can do it. The result will taste sweet and you will be so pleased with yourself.
Seven of Swords

Aquarius

Five of Rods

There are times in life when it seems that the only way to get on is to trample over others, elbow them aside. This leads to resentment and conflict, with the effect that no-one is happy. Is this your experience? As either the elbowed or elbower? As long as you allow yourself to get carried away with this, so you will be unhappy. The word competition springs to mind. It takes humility and modesty not to get drawn in. For peace of mind you really ought to take a few steps backwards and let the rest fight it out between themselves. Trust in the universe to bring the right outcome, and all will be well.
Five of Rods

Pisces

Two of Cups

It looks like a period of conflict or uncertainty in a particular relationship (romantic or otherwise) has come to an end and a period of harmony and peace has arrived in your life. This card urges you to enter into it fully, to appreciate what and who you are close to. Don't take it for granted, for that is when things can fall into disarray. In other words, live in the now. Worry not about what has gone before or what the future may hold. As a Piscean this loving attitude should fulfil the need in you to care for and to be cared for. Life is currently blessing you. Be thankful and enjoy.
